How it works

Three taps. Three seconds.

Chef Broc step 01

Step 01

Open the Broc Wand

Tap the floating broccoli button in the bottom-right corner of any screen, then tap “Scan pantry photo.”

Chef Broc step 02

Step 02

Photograph what you have

Fridge shelves, freezer drawers, pantry boxes, spice racks — anything in frame is fair game. One shot is usually enough.

Chef Broc step 03

Step 03

Confirm + cook

Review the AI's list of detected ingredients in one tap, then match recipes to what you have. No more guessing what's in the back of the freezer.

Why it matters

You already own dinner. You just forgot.

US households throw out roughly 31% of the food they buy. The number-one reason isn't laziness or spoilage timing — it's invisibility. Food gets pushed to the back of the fridge, hidden behind other items, and forgotten.

Pantry Scan makes everything visible in one shot. You see what you have, cook what you have, and stop buying duplicates of stuff already on the shelf.

Without Pantry Scan

  • Buy a third jar of cumin you forgot about
  • Frozen chicken expires in the back
  • “What's for dinner?” ends in DoorDash

With Pantry Scan

  • Shopping list skips what you already have
  • Recipes match what's about to expire
  • 30 seconds from photo to dinner plan

Privacy first

Your fridge stays your fridge.

Photos go through our AI once, then disappear. Nothing is stored, nothing is shared. This isn't a marketing line — it's how the system is built.

Photos processed in-memory

Your photo travels to our AI, gets read, and is discarded. We never write it to disk on our servers.

EXIF stripped on your device

Location and device metadata are removed before the photo leaves your phone.

No third-party sharing

We don't sell, license, or share Pantry Scan photos with anyone — not advertisers, not partners.

FAQ

Quick answers

How many scans can I do?

5 scans per rolling 7-day window, on both the 14-day free trial and the paid Pro plan. Plenty for a weekly fridge-check workflow.

Are my photos saved anywhere?

No. Photos are processed in-memory and dropped after the AI finishes reading them. EXIF metadata is also stripped on your device before upload.

What if Pantry Scan misses an item?

You can manually add anything we missed in the confirm step. For items hidden behind others, take a closer second photo of that shelf.

Do I need to organize my fridge first?

Nope. The AI handles messy shelves and partial views. The cleaner the photo, the more accurate — but you don't have to stage anything.
